How many people have good oral health?
In 2023, 7 in 10 Dutch people aged 18 and over said they had good oral health. They rated the health of their teeth and gums as ‘good’ or ‘very good’. Twenty percent of adults reported having full or partial dentures, with 7 percent of over-18s saying they no longer had any teeth of their own at all (almost everyone in this group had dentures).
Of women aged 18 and over, 73 percent rated their oral health as ‘good’ or ‘very good’. Among men, this was 69 percent. When asked about to describe the overall health of their teeth and gums, women were more likely than men to answer ‘very good’, while men were more likely to answer ‘bad’.
