Oil and fats cost nearly a quarter more
Prices of cooking oils and fats rose by most (24.5 percent). However, shoppers spend only a relatively small part of their food budget on these products. Milk, cheese and eggs, for example, cost 15.6 percent more, and meat on average 13.1 percent more. Beef prices rose by more than pork and chicken. Prices increases for fish and shellfish were more modest: 9.2 percent.
