Welcome to The Netherlands in Numbers
This publication focuses on a number of important issues that we face as a society. The short articles include links to more in-depth articles and dossiers on our website.
Statistics Netherlands (CBS) is the official statistics office of the Netherlands. Our data enables us to compile reliable statistics about the issues that matter in the Netherlands. This information helps the government, businesses and citizens to make well-informed decisions. We gather data from existing sources, such as tax returns, but we also ask individuals, businesses and organisations for additional information. It is thanks to their cooperation that we are able to produce statistics. CBS handles all personal data with the utmost care and in complete anonymity, in accordance with the relevant legal agreements.
CBS is here to serve society, but at the same time we depend on society to produce our statistics. Together, we provide clear and reliable information that everyone in the Netherlands can rely on.
